The St. Germain Radar Run started in 2004 as a small radar run on the lake.

With input from racers and spectators alike, it has grown into the Midwest’s premier winter lake event for racing.    Safety is our first priority at all times, with accuracy and fun following close behind. Where else can you watch the fastest sleds built for straight-line racing, yet go out on the same tracks with family and friends to see what your sled will do.   We offer straight-line racing with 36 classes following ISR guidelines. Speed runs are on 1000′ of shaved ice with 2000′ of shutdown. Radar runs are on 660′ of perfectly packed snow.

Any spectator can participate with fun runs on either track.  Music is provided every day and heated tents serve up food, beverages, snowmobile gear, and crazy fun in the Boondock Nation Concierge Tent.

Drag racing is for specific built sleds run side by side on snow.   Friday Night watch the fastest sleds built for snow compete for $14,000 in purse money.

Every dollar raised goes back to charitable causes.  Whether it’s civic groups on the lake staffed with volunteers or the wildly popular bikini run raising thousands of dollars for breast cancer; an entire community comes together for one weekend.   One weekend…. 100’s of volunteers, and thousands of spectators sharing their common love of winter in the Northwoods.
